You open a magazine. It’s full of photos of perfect people. They look great but they’re not real.
Why? Because they’ve been airbrushed!
What is airbrushing?
Airbrushing is when a designer uses Photoshop to change a photo to make someone thinner, to make their hair glossier or to make their teeth whiter.
Airbrushing is used everywhere- in adverts, posters, online.
The problem is that many people don’t realise these pictures have been changed.
Phychologists say that looking at a photo of a perfect supermodel for just one minute can make you unhappy.
There are more cases of eating disorders than ever before; medical experts blame impossible images for the increase.
